• Does Shada work directly for Medicare or Medicaid?

  No. Shada provides subcontracting and consulting services for those larger entities who directly contract with these federal programs. Shada is a human resource-type entity that provides skilled expertise in staffing for those contracts.

• What does “Shada” mean?

  The word “Shada” (Shah-duh) is a Native American word for “Pelican.” It’s typically a girl’s name in Native American culture. The owner of Shada is Native American and is currently applying for recognition as a Native American business owner. Shada Consulting Services, LLC is based in Louisiana, which is known as The Pelican State, so this presents a double connection for the name.

• What kind of consulting does Shada provide?

  Shada consultants are skilled in providing investigative and legal resources for Medicare and Medicaid contractors who are tasked with upholding the integrity of those federal benefit programs. Fraud, waste, and abuse presents a wide spectrum in the investigative field, from those health care providers that are simply making erroneous billing errors through lack of education to those health care providers who set about to systematically defraud these programs. Shada Consulting offers assistance to benefit integrity contractors in identifying all types of fraud, waste, and abuse. This serves to protect the benefit so that it will remain a viable program for the future.

  Shada consultants are knowledgeable in health care investigations, both within the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Many of our consultants are knowledgeable in both programs; some are experts in only one or the other. These federal programs involve extensive regulations, so knowledge about those regulations is a plus when being considered for a consultant position.
